ASPIRATION

The film sets up two intertwining storylines featuring two protagonists in vastly different worlds: a primitive wonderland and a modern metropolis. They seem to have no connection, but eventually echo each other. This experimental movie attempts to explore the cycle of life and death.

As 'Dasein' is thrown into the world, death becomes the greatest 'singularity'. In the long river of time and space, are humans and civilization itself destined only for a path of void? Both Greek philosophy and Indian Buddhism have explored this and arrived at similar conclusions, that there is no eternal constancy, only eternal recurrence. If so, how should we place every moment of every thought that constitutes life? Perhaps, as the Forty-Two Chapters Sutra says: ‘What measures a person's life?’ The answer is, ‘In each breath.’ The ability to blossom between each inhalation and exhalation is indeed the dance life should have.
